ArAS PRIZE RESULTS

 

Igor Chilingarian, was announced the 4th winner of the ArAS Annual Prize for young astronomers in 2007. A certificate and a sum of USD 100 donated by Prof. Yervant Terzian just for this occasion will be handed to Igor Chilingarian.

 

Here is a brief info about Igor. Igor Chilingarian, 27, has graduated from the Moscow State University. He is an ArAS member since 2005. He received his PhD degree (2006) by the Moscow State University and Universite Claude Bernard Lyon-1 (France). His research in 2007 was devoted to Virtual Observatories. Igor’s results and activities in 2007 include 4 publications (papers published in "Astronomy and Astrophysics", "Astronomy Letters", "Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society" and Proceedings of ESA Workshop, IVOA Interoperability Meeting, VO-France Theory Group Workshop, IAU Symposium 245, JENAM-2007 two oral presentations, etc.

 

We congratulate Igor with this success and wish him future scientific achievements.

ANSEF AWARDED 2008 GRANTS

 

The winner for 2008 is Elena Nikogosian, "The investigation of the very active star formation region in Cygnus OB7 complex".

 

ANSEF grants are active since 2001. Altogether, 15 projects from the Byurakan Observatory have been awarded ANSEF grants, USD 5000 each.
